STIHL M-Tronic: Intelligent Engine Management
STIHL M-Tronic is a microprocessor-controlled engine management system designed to maintain reliable engine performance in changing working conditions. It electronically regulates fuel metering and ignition timing, so the tool can automatically adapt its settings during operation.
Automatic adjustment for changing conditions
M-Tronic compensates for factors that can affect engine performance, including temperature, altitude, fuel quality and, on selected models, air-filter condition. This helps maintain optimum engine power and responsive acceleration without manual carburettor adjustment. M-Tronic-equipped tools have no low- and high-speed carburettor adjustment screws.
Simplified starting
The system is designed to make starting faster and more consistent in different weather conditions and at different engine temperatures. For models with a Start position, STIHL specifies using this position for starting regardless of climate or engine temperature. Always follow the starting procedure in the instruction manual for the specific tool.
M-Tronic helps the operator focus on the work, while the engine management system automatically adjusts to changing conditions.
